Monday-Friday: Shifts Ranging: 8-4:30, 8:30-5, 9-5:30 and 9:30-6

Position Overview:

  • Establishes effective communication with patients/families, physicians, third party payors, pharmaceutical manufacturer representatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Verify insurance coverage for potential new patients and re-verify insurance coverage for existing patients in order to process patient prescription needs successfully and demonstrate excellent customer service to patients, healthcare professionals and insurance carriers.
  • Collect the appropriate information needed to ensure insurance coverage for patient medication orders and document in computer systems.
  • Process patient prescription needs successfully, reduce exposure to adverse events, and demonstrate excellent customer service to patients, healthcare professionals and insurance carriers.
  • Contact insurance carriers to resolve insurance coverage issues. Interface with other departments in a collaborative effort to identify solutions which will promote customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to messages and support tickets within designated timeframe.
  • Maintain or exceed designate quality production standards.
  • Communicate with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Communicate with providers, sales agents and account managers as necessary to problem solve.
  • Recommend innovative solutions to existing issues.
  • Obtain accurate demographic, insurance and financial information from healthcare professionals and patients to complete enrollment applications for new patients.
  • Communicating medical information to customers, patients, team members via thorough understanding of products and service lines offered.
  • Maintain a timely turnaround for insurance verifications.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in customer service, insurance, benefits, marketing, sales or related area, required.
  • Health care environment with third party benefits verification experience, a plus-not required.
  • Prior phone customer service experience with essential skills in navigating a software system to document conversations and outcomes, as well as managing follow-up actions, highly desired-not required.
