Volunteer Manager

General Description:

The Volunteer Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of volunteer advocates. This includes the coordination of volunteer activities; all aspects of case management including CASA volunteer coaching and supervision; and assisting in recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities:

Case Management

  • Direct supervision of volunteer advocates
  • Develop strong working relationships with volunteers
  • Build individual rapport with each advocate and support him/her in a personalized manner
  • Assist in development of advocacy plans for each case
  • Communicate regularly with each volunteer
  • Review and edit advocate court reports
  • Attend dependency court hearings
  • Represent program in professional manner
  • Participate in court hearings if necessary
  • Develop professional working relationships with the local child welfare agency, legal professionals and court staff, and social service agencies
  • Possess a working knowledge of issues and dynamics within families in crisis related to child abuse/neglect
  • Possess a working knowledge of resources available within the community to assist families
  • Maintain case and volunteer records
  • Document record changes/updates in a timely and accurate manner

Recruitment of potential volunteer advocates

  • Assisting with CASA Information Sessions
  • Fielding phone calls from interested individuals
  • Assist in volunteer interviews

Training

  • Assist in facilitation of NCASA training curriculum
  • Participate in-service trainings

Education/Experience:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree. The successful candidate will possess strong time management skills, the ability to multi-task, experience working with or overseeing volunteers and strong coaching and supervision skills. Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, are crucial. Experience working in child welfare a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,000.00 per year
