Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTION
- This position is responsible for devising plans and requirements to achieve financial goals tied to projects. This includes speaking with stakeholders across the organization to ensure their requirements in a project are identified and accounted for. This role is also responsible to look over larger amounts of data while tying this information into reports, presentations, and formal Business Requirement Documents. This role will work with various software programs to help the organization and teams formulate proper workflows and templates and other project documentation. This role is key to ensuring both business needs and IT needs are met through collaborative work sessions with an output of agreed upon requirements. Much of the day-to-day work will be interacting via email and meetings with internal and external teams. This will also include creating and revising business processes and finding out pain points in the organization or around specific projects.
Business Requirement Gathering:
- Gather and interpret data, create and analyze models and information.
- Understand problems and goals as defined by the Business Owner or Project Manager assigned.
- Lead analysis of requirements and solutions
- Plan strategies with business owners and facilitate stakeholder collaboration.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate existing business processes to formulate new business programs and initiatives
- Lead process review and improvement initiatives to ensure smooth transitions
- Coordinate with other team members in the organization to create or improve workflows
- Educate other departments on new processes, sharing ideas, and taking feedback
- Define risk factors.
- Identify and then prioritize technical and functional requirements
- Evaluate critical information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and translate high-level technical information for general understanding.
- Support problem resolution through root cause analysis and strategic, creative thinking.
- Prepare, maintain, and update reports and other business documentation as required.
- Look for ways to improve/ streamline the way we work and how we service our customers and stakeholders
Compliance/Operational Controls/Procedures
- Ensure all compliance/legal review and sign off is part of requirement gathering, testing scenarios.
- Work closely alongside business partners to ensure their requirements are addressed and met in the project plan/charter/BRD.
- Identify and bring forward any compliance/legal related risks while working with business partners
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's/College degree in computer science, computer systems engineering, business administration, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience will be considered.
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years' experience in a similar position with work in business process, system analysis & solution delivery
- Experience as a Junior Analyst may also be considered.
- Experience creating and presenting detailed reports and business process mapping.
- Using PM tools such as: Charters, Microsoft office (Project, Tableau, & Oracle), Azure Dev Ops and other work collaboration tools.
- Deep understanding of SQL and database stored procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with technical and business owners
- Demonstrated problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level
- Experience working with various financial services products, retail and digital programs
SKILLS
- Familiarity with working in an Agile environment. Preference for PMI Agile Certification
- Exceptional leadership, planning, organizational and communications/ interpersonal skills, and conflict management. Ability to build strong working relationships
- Proficient in supporting technology initiatives
- Strong working knowledge of software development tools and techniques with a solid understanding of networks, databases, and other technology
- Working knowledge of the techniques of systems analysis, design and development
- Ability to manage very diverse work groups across a variety of complex and concurrent projects while meeting initiated deadlines
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail that helps efficiently detect and solve problems.
