DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ASSISTANCE DIRECTOR OF NURSING
As an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at our elder care facility, you'll assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with company policy and all appropriate regulations. You'll also be responsible for infection control and prevention as well as treating wounds. You'll also be asked in participate in facility surveys/inspections from regulatory agencies as requested by the administrator or director of nursing. You'll work with the QA Nurse to aide in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility quality assurance program for the nursing department. You will also assist with developing, implementing and periodically updating resident written discharge plans. Performance of administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary throughout the day.
You teach, mentor, and inspire each member to give their best and continue to develop professionally. Your creativity comes into play as you plan and carry out orientations, educational opportunities, and in-service events for the benefit of our entire nursing staff which in-turn benefits the residents of our senior care community. Your love for senior care is evident in all you do. You enjoy your job, and your positive attitude filters down to our staff, as well as our patients and their families.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Licensed as an RN
* Previous experience in a long term care facility
* Previous nurse supervisor experience
* A love for people, especially the elderly
* A heart for teaching
