Chubb has an opportunity for a Business Analyst in their Global Risk Systems (GRS) department. The position will be based within the North America Organization. The successful candidate will gather and document requirements, perform system testing, assist with project planning, and perform other analysis tasks for the Applications. The candidate would work from Philadelphia, PA offices. There may be a need to travel to other office locations.
Duties:
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Developers, Project Manager, and other Stakeholders e.g. Actuaries, Geospatial Scientists, PMO... etc. to ensure that detailed requirements meet the business needs.
- Deliver the right functionality in the right way by owning and driving the functional definition, gathering requirements, design, implementation, and delivery in partnership with the Development team.
- Review, accept and prioritize feedback and new requirements from project stakeholders.
- Ensure that team deliverables meet agreed-upon standards for quality and non-functional requirements and that the product meets the stated business need.
- Own, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, including the definition of epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Serve as the "voice of the user" with the delivery team by representing the user's perspective throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, business analysts, developers, testers, and others to develop and execute product roadmaps and release plans.
- Conduct gap and impact analysis.
- Manage changes to specifications in accordance with CHUBB and/or industry standards and processes.
- Continuously and transparently communicate with internal stakeholders the prioritization of the product backlog and the status of development efforts via product demos, release plans, and other means.
- Conduct research, plan, and establish appropriate documentation & estimations for future projects.
- Create and distribute project/product documentation (such as status reports, user flows/stories, developing wireframes, user guides, etc...)
- Lead / Assist Sprint Planning, facilitate Sprint Demos and attend other Scrum meetings.
- Schedule and hold backlog grooming sessions with the development team.
- Proactively contribute to the quality of the product by seeking and proposing new or alternate approaches to address product needs.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- 4-7 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst. Insurance knowledge and experience a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, to break down business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
- Understands system development life cycle (SDLC) and project methodologies.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Responds well to change and handles multiple demands and priorities effectively
- Works well independently.
- Understands relational databases and query tools; has working knowledge of SQL (preferably MS SQL Server) and Management Studio.
- Effectively meets deadlines.
- Develops good working relationships and responds to customers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- MS Office experience
- Insurance knowledge in catastrophic modelling, pricing, property and casualty.
- Familiarity/ Experience CAT modelling software's by Vendors such as RMS, AIR
- Data Analysis Experience.
- Experience with .Net applications.
