Job description
Security Risk Advisors (SRA) is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. Our new CFO will work with leadership to develop and execute strategic, operational, and financial management goals and provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the accounting, internal audit, and finance teams.
The ideal candidate will have a background in forecasting and planning, profitability analysis, budgeting and reporting, and strategic decision-making. Prior experience in professional services (consulting, accounting, or legal) or a software company is preferred. Experience starting or operating offices and affiliate companies in foreign geographies (EU, APAC) is also an advantage but not required.
The CFO will report to the Managing Director and work with external advisors (accounting, tax, and legal firms) on accounting, tax, and financial matters, as well as oversee a small team.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in accounting and finance fundamentals, as well as a dynamic, innovative mindset, who can collaborate with and contribute to our executive leadership team.
Essential Functions

Strategic
Provide executive leadership team with forward-looking strategic advice in support of the business. Collaborate with CEO and Managing Director to identify new business opportunities and assess strategic needs.
Track financial benchmarks and keep the executive leadership team apprised of relevant changes. Inform executive leadership of any significant variances in budget, revenue, or expenses.
Work to identify and shift, mitigate, or minimize business risks and potential liabilities.
Ensure that the company maintains the highest ethical standards.
Develop accounting, tax and finance policies, standards, and procedures to minimize organizational risk.
Oversee critical large-scale organizational changes with the support of business leaders.
Maintain expert knowledge of the market, economic conditions, competitors, relevant economic factors, and their impact on the business.
Financial
Oversee the accurate preparation of and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements, and present to management.
Coordinate with external accountants and attorneys for independent audits and compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Develop and analyze financial and operating metrics.
Ensure that a documented system of accounting policies and procedures is maintained.
Minimize revenue slippage due to poor administrative, billing, or collection procedures. Ensure there is adequate liquidity to meet the needs of the business. Support spending decisions that are rational and optimized.
Corporate Governance
For the LLC - manage buy-in, ownership, and profit calculations; ensure member distributions and allocations are accurate and timely; work with outside counsel on relevant corporate documentation.
Coordinate Members' compliance with banks, external accountants, city, state, and federal bodies.
Business Operations Oversight
Provide oversight and ensure that the back-office Business Operations team has adequate resources to perform its functions and effectively support company operations.
Work to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of Business Operations.
Ensure that infrastructure is sufficient to support organizational growth.
Work with the Business Operations Team to develop strategic and operational plans.
Oversee budgets and spending related to relevant technology, subscriptions, and other recurring expenses.
Requirements
Superb verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including PowerBI and Power Automate.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Comfortable within fast-paced, agile organizations; experience with change management.
Experience managing and coaching others.
Supervisory Responsibility
The CFO is responsible for the direct or indirect supervision of company employees on the Accounting, Internal Audit, and Finance teams.
Required Education and Experience
Ten or more years' relevant experience. An undergraduate degree.
Preferred Education and Experience
Prior experience in developing and managing accounting, tax, and finance functions at a for-profit organization. Significant experience in accounting, controllership, public accounting, or industry. Experience in professional services organizations (law, accounting, or consulting) preferred.
Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree and/or master's degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Big 4 or national accounting firm experience a plus. One or more of the following designations: certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA) or chartered financial analyst (CFA) preferred. Familiarity with LLCs or LLPs a plus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
