Mechanical Project Engineer

• A Project Engineer is responsible for implementing small to medium engineering projects, including Design, Construction Documents, Permitting, Bidding and Construction Administration.
• Included is responsible for coordination with other disciplines.
• Will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering; (Master's preferred), a valid state Professional Engineer's license required and a minimum of 5 years engineering experience with demonstrated project management experience.

• A Project Engineer shall hold an engineering license and shall have a minimum of 5 years experience in a professional engineering office.
• This position requires a complete understanding of building construction methods, techniques, building systems, cost implications, as well as the major model codes.
• Final responsibility for the technical quality and success of a project lies with the Project Engineer.
• Must has experience in Piping, Plumbing, and/or HVAC system design (Commercial, Retail, Grocery, etc.)

Responsibilities:

• As a fully competent Mechanical Engineer, performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of the subject matter of the functional area of the assignment.
• Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope.
• Plans, schedules, and conducts or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
• Must be proficient in Revit.
• Commercial Experience Need (Grocery, Big Box, Retail projects)
• Manages graduate engineers and designers.
• Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is exercised.
• Additional duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required.

• Overtime (40+ hours) may be required as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets.
• Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time.
