Blaise Metalworks (blaisemetalworks.com) is a creative metalworking studio specializing in hand forged and fabricated products as well as custom built architectural metalwork.
We are looking to hire on a workshop assistant. This is a dynamic position in which you will be asked to assist on various projects in the workshop. This is definitely a hands on job and not for those afraid to get their hands dirty.

We work hard but like to have a good time doing so.

In this position you will be working closely with the owner to drive projects forward. This is a team player role. You will be expected to confidently and proficiently carry out tasks and work through any problems that arise.

This is a learning experience for the right person, we don't need you to be an Ace metal fabricator, but you must have the willingness to learn and improve.

So, who exactly are we looking for?

Ideally, we are looking for someone who is,

- responsible and driven to learn new things

- must have some hands on building/making experience using basic power tools, saws, grinders, etc. Any metalworking or welding experience is a plus!

- strong creative problem solving skills

- has some computer/tech skills. Experience with CAD drafting, digital content creation, illustration, Xcel/Google Sheets, photo or video skills, anything of that sort would be very helpful.

- Good attitude and work ethic

Details about the position:

- Part Time, 2 - 3 days a week to start

- $16/hr to start

- Typical workday, 9:30am to 5pm, 1 hour lunch break (not paid)

COVID-19 considerations:
We work in an open workshop environment with ventilation, generally 6' or more apart from each other. Masks are optional and currently all team members are vaccinated.

• Philadelphia, PA 19125: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Welding: 1 year (Preferred)
