Job description

Our client is growing and has us recruiting for an organized and driven Investment Accountant to join their team that provides integrated wealth management for two Family Offices. The Investment Accountant position will work closely with other team members to handle transaction processing and accounting for their family office clients and their investments with a focus on:

* Reconciliation of investment data with the general ledger
* Process and procedure improvement
* Process automation and technology advancements

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

General Accounting

Maintain GAAP basis accounting records for partnerships, trusts, foundations, and other family client entities

Process and account for entity cash flows including tax payments, investment fees and partnership/trust distributions

Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations and monthly financial close procedures

Perform treasury functions including cash balance management

Review processes and procedures and suggest improvements on effectiveness and efficiency

Work with team members to develop a plan to automate processes and leverage technology

Investment Accounting

Internal Controls

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies

Maintain and improve documentation and approval processes

REQUIRED SKILLS

A bachelors degree in accounting/finance required, CPA a plus

3-6 years accounting experience and/or investment accounting experience

Experience in financial statement preparation and presentation

Comfortable with technology in general

Ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly and efficiently

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, and SharePoint

Experience with general ledger and reporting software; Addepar, QuickBooks and Adobe Professional a plus

Family Office / Wealth Management experience a plus; but not required

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize many tasks and responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude

Capable of multi-tasking with family and team members

Effective time management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills with family and team members

Ability to handle issues quickly and promptly

Works well independently or in team situation

Self-motivated, pleasant, and detail oriented
