Job description

You'll work with Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) service line of McKinsey's Operations practice. Our Operations practice assists our clients in solving complex operational challenges by developing and implementing operational strategies, initiatives and solutions for most critical problems.

You will spend a significant part of your time solving complex client problems in the areas of manufacturing and supply chain.

In this role you will work in teams to collaborate with our clients in order to define new organizational structures, roles and processes across global organizations. This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. You will make a meaningful, hands-on contribution to the analysis, design and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results. In this exciting collaborative culture, you will not only have the opportunity to work directly with clients, you will also share your expertise and insights with colleagues globally, thereby expanding our knowledge and refining our approaches in the manufacturing and supply chain field.

Projects may include developing optimal network configuration models for global supply chains of clients, stochastic simulation of inventory levels with the objective of creating a robust inventory policy, and conducting diagnostics on supply chain health and performance for our clients. You will use your expertise to drive change in system and network redesign, as well as improvements to the overall execution of large operations-thus the work will range from shop floor improvements to fundamental changes in work processes, and information and material flows.

* Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
