Responsibilities
* Primarily responsible for assisting the HR Manager as needed in most functional areas of HR.
* Performs customer service functions by answering employee request and questions.
* Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
* Assists with I-9 preparation as needed.
* Assists with preparation and conduction of new hire orientation.
* Assists with providing training to the employees on various Human Resources related topics.
* Assists with preparation and monitoring of FMLA processes for the plant.
* Assists with employee engagement events and employee recognition programs.
* Assists with unemployment claims.
* Assists with benefit administration to employees.
* Provides administrative support to the HR department in record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry for hourly employees.
* Prepares new employee files
* Processes mail and UPS shipments.
* Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
* Assists with preparation of attendance documents as needed.
* Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with an emphasis in Human Resources a plus.
* SHRM Certified Professional credential (SHRM-CP) a plus.
* Prefer 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources.
* Payroll experience a plus
* Strong analytical and interpretive skills
* Excellent computer skills including Excel and Word
* Ability to learn new systems as they relate to Human Resources
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize
* Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
* Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a fast paced environment
* Ability to build trusting relationships
* Must be able to maintain confidentiality
* Possesses the ability to understand and follow instructions.
* Ability to work collaboratively and well with teammates.
