SAFETY MANAGER - Northeast Pennsylvania
ICON is currently seeking a Safety Manager to support operations in the Northeast Pennsylvania area.

JOB SUMMARY:

Safety Specialists are responsible for preventing accidents in business and on job sites. These professionals make sure that various workplaces meet safety and health requirements and then apply corrective measures if necessary. They participate in creating programs such as company policies, investigate in cases of accidents, and implement post-injury follow up procedures for workers. Safety Specialists are required to demonstrate professional conduct and ethical behavior at all times. Specific duties include:

  • Best Practices - Implement safety policies and procedures in support of organizational goals. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Compliance - Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Improvement - Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Inspection (Equipment) - Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Inspection (Personnel) - Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Investigation - Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims
  • Policies - Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Reporting - Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
  • Risk Assessment - Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Safety Plans - Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Training - Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Job Site Visits - Visit job sites to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment and materials

SKILLS/QUALIFICATION:

  • BS/BA in safety management or relevant field (is preferred)
  • Experience in construction safety, oil/gas industry is perferred
  • Thorough understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • OSHA 30
