JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Operational Technology (OT), a division of the Office of Physical Plant, seeks a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Salute EHS (Environmental Heath and Safety) platform business analyst. This position will report to the Director of Operational Technology and the focus of this position is to provide support/administration for the Salute EHS platform. We are looking for the selected candidate to maintain a working knowledge of other Penn State systems to manage system integrations with Salute and provide all training needs regarding system functionality to end-users.

This position is responsible for analyzing/diagnosing system issues, analyzing business processes, and designing functional solutions for system enhancements. Additionally, the individual in this role will be responsible for testing and documenting system functionality. This position may include additional opportunities for projects in other applications within the Office of the Physical Plant.

Additional duties and expectations include, but are not limited to:

• Serve as subject matter expert for a complex cloud platform with multiple system integrations
• Ensure successful operation of Salute EHS Platform
• Modify and/or configure the system to meet business needs and stakeholder requirements
• Document business requirements and author detailed functional system specifications
• Develop training materials
• Work collaboratively with functional offices throughout the University (i.e. IT Service Desk, Office of Information Security, Identity and Access Management)
• Lead testing such as user acceptance, performance, security, usability, etc.
• Analyze/diagnose and resolve production issues
• Resolve tickets in the issue tracking system (Service Now)
• Function as OT Application Support Tier 2 support for Salute EHS
• Provide written and oral status updates to supervisor, other team members, and/or functional offices
• Participate in the implementation of system patches, updates, and maintenance
• Participate in the implementation and configuration of third-party applications that integrate with the Student System
• May lead or mentor sub-teams

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred experience areas include:

• In-depth knowledge of one of the following areas: Authentication and Access Control, Service Desk Support and Service Now Ticketing System
• Experience working with vendor services in higher education
• Working knowledge of requirements definition techniques
• Effective Project Management skills, experience with large scale projects
• Effective customer service and presentation skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications
• Ability to communicate technology concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to recognize data anomalies and problems and identify corrective actions
• Ability to train and mentor peers, and to train functional office staff

At this time, work for this position has the potential to be performed remotely. However, when Penn State has a complete return-to-campus for staff, any remote working arrangements will be re-evaluated and could switch to on-campus only.
