About the Role FTI Consulting Inc.'s Environmental Solutions Practice is looking for a Database Analyst. The primary responsibility of this position is to support practitioners with database development, management, analysis, and reporting. Proficiency in EQuIS and MS Access databases is required. Projects typically involve complex Superfund sites and work on multi-disciplinary teams to solve problems relating to responsibility determination, allocation of damages, and dispute resolution for environmental cleanup. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet critical client deadlines. What You'll Do The successful candidate will support a range of project tasks including, but not necessarily limited to the following: Work with project teams to develop data management strategies and solutions that provide high quality, reproducible, and transparent data organization, storage, and analysis. Design and utilize MS Access databases for tracking and analyzing information, including chemistry data, documents, and allocation data. Manage environmental chemistry data using EQuIS, including EQuIS online; must be able to execute tasks such as appending new data as received, developing queries, and helping both internal and external users access data. Develop queries, data entry forms, and reports to support project needs. Develop documentation and metadata for project databases and analysis as needed. Basic Qualifications B.S./B.A. in Environmental or other science field, M.S. a plus. At least 1 to 3 years of technical training and professional experience in database technology. Proficiency in EQuIS, MS Access, and MS Excel, including the ability to write complex formulas and visualize data effectively. Working knowledge of database structure, query design, and maintenance. Attention to detail in quantitative work products and written communication, including ability to QA work product prior to senior level review. Ability to think analytically and critically. Team player with positive and energetic attitude, professional demeanor, and high work quality standards. Ability to work well under pressure and to work independently. Flexibility in working on multiple assignments concurrently and taking direction. This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices. COVID Vaccine required* Preferred Skills Proficiency in scripting languages such as VBA, Python, SQL, or Matlab. Proficiency in mapping applications and geospatial analysis. Experience linking data across various applications (i.e., MS Access to MS Excel, MS Access to ArcGIS, etc.). Experience working with laboratory analytical data.
