Oil and Gas Entry-Level Field Operator

Job Description:

The entry-level operator will be working for a variety of companies in two main service divisions; water transfer and production testing. The entry-level operator will be working both on active well sites and support locations. These employees work on crews and are responsible for setting up, operating, and rigging down jobs safely. Their work is laborious and performed outdoors in all types of conditions.

Job Functions:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with equipment rig up and rig down on each well under the guidance of the Senior Operator / Supervisor.
  • Assisting the Senior Operator as assigned and following directions as needed.
  • Loading and unloading pipe, field materials, and equipment onto trailers and trucks for safe transport
  • Observing machine operations, and gauges, and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
  • Setting and servicing pumps, equipment, and generators at job sites
  • Using common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Following all safety procedures and using proper PPE as required per specific job task.
  • Attending and successfully completing training as directed for various customers, DOT, and OSHA.

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Students currently enrolled in petroleum engineering or related programs are preferred.
  • Possess outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, punctual, and able to adjust to changing job locations and shifts.
  • Able to work in a team environment using oral and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of basic tools and machines, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for multiple hours during active shift.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

This position is compensated by a flat per-day compensation rate. Individuals are also compensated for mileage traveled to company locations as well as provided pier diem for certain job roles.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $1,400.00 - $1,800.00 per week

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift

  • Oil & gas: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Preferred)
  • Night Shift (Preferred)
  • Overnight Shift (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 100% (Preferred)
