Job description
Manages and coordinates the human resources function across sub-functions such as recruitment, training and talent development, compensation, organization development, and employee relations to meet company's business requirements. This is the top human resources position for a specific location and is governed by policies and frameworks established by the corporation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the formation of a key element of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Analyze and administer compensation program to ensure consistency and competitiveness of the organization's compensation program.
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
- Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
- Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, and employee relations.
- Plan, organize, direct, control, or coordinate the personnel, training, and employee relations.
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, employee engagement, and community involvement programs.
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
- Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.
- Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
- Analyze training needs to design employee development and training and development programs.
- Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
- Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
- Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.
- Study legislation recent legal developments to assess industry trends.
- Develop or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity, community involvement, employee rewards and recognition.
- Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests.
- Contract with vendors to provide employee services, such as food service, transportation, or relocation service.
Education/ Skills/ Experience:
- BA/BS in human resources, business management, communications, or related field.
- Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job-related experience in human resources to fully competent level (over 6 years to 10 years).
- Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers (Over 3 years to 6 years)
- Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to communicate with other people independently while providing guidance and training to others on speaking in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
Skill Requirements:
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
