Job Title: Therapy Receptionist
Reports To: Therapy Receptionist Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: *
The Therapy Receptionist coordinates patient care services within the Therapy Department. This job involves numerous tasks which impact the patient's interaction with the Therapy Department. This position requires flexible hours Monday - Friday between 7:00am - 7:00pm based on scheduling.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Schedule therapy patient appointments, check patient's insurance benefits, and collect co-payments
  • Answer and return therapy phone calls; communicate with insurance companies
  • Register patients and update patient demographics in the EMR system
  • Check in and checkout patients from therapy
  • Discharge patients / episodes of care from therapy schedule
  • Assist with billing needs
  • Batch out at the end of the shift and verify co-pays with cash collected. Provide verified and completed batch to the office Site Manager at the end of the day.
  • Scan documents into the EMR system
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Manager to meet department needs.

Requirements: *

  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with staff, patients and physicians
  • Computer experience and accuracy in data entry regarding patient appointments and scheduling
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a high-volume patient base clinic
  • Professional, pleasant, and cheerful
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of third-party billing helpful
  • Medical experience and knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be flexible with work hours
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to travel to all sites if/when necessary.
