Job Summary/Purpose: The Senior Technology Business Analyst assists the Resource/Capabilities Manager, Director of Business Delivery and the ACIO for Business Operations with identifying the business requirements, determining the optimal capabilities, and designing solutions that best meets MUSC's academic, research and healthcare missions.This role works with IS's business relationship managers, IS architects, project managers and business partners to align technology solutions with business strategies.Supports one or more highly complex business processes, requiring design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business. Serves as a technical lead and may have resource and matrixed people management responsibilities.Leads and provides direction for short- and long-term planning sessions to ensure understanding of business goals and direction. Leads the assessment of business partners needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs andrecommends options, risks, and cost vs. benefits. Monitors and analyzes performance metrics to ensure benefits realization. Provides quality assurance through the robust design and executing of testing processes.Establishes measurable individual and team objectives that align with business goals.Generates appropriate communication, process and educational plans for mitigating the disruption of change. Identifies and removes obstacles to change. Coaches and transfers knowledge to IS peers and staff. Exploits opportunities to leverage new technologies to enable business solutions.
Minimum Training and Education: Master's degree in a business or quantitative discipline (accounting, finance, information systems, statistics, healthcare administration, informatics etc. with six (6) years of work experience in business intelligence, analytics, finance, resource management, or project management; or Bachelor's degree in a business or quantitative discipline (accounting, finance, information systems, statistics, healthcare administration, informatics etc. with eight years of work experience in business intelligence, analytics, finance, resource management or project management . Advanced analytical skills, organizational change management experience, and service management proficiency required. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, business relationship, fact-finding, and presentation and communication (written/verbal) skills required.
Requires leadership skills, experience/in depth knowledge of business operations and systems requirements processes. PMP and ITIL foundations certifications preferred, required within 1 year of employment.
