Job Title: Regional Development Officer, Coastal Regions
Lowcountry, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head
Reports To: VP of Mission Advancement
Status: Exempt
Job Summary: The Regional Development Officer is responsible for initiating, cultivating and executing long-term philanthropic partnerships to increase awareness and raise funds for the mission of Make-A-Wish South Carolina. The position will be accountable for managing multiple partnerships, tracking revenue success, and working with stakeholders to plan special events and campaigns to advance our message and foster collaborations between community partners, corporate entities, individual donors, grateful wish families and the community-at-large. The Regional Development Officer will demonstrate an ability to solicit and close successful partnerships, have knowledge of current fundraising best practices, have demonstrated past fundraising expertise, and possess a strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Make-A-Wish South Carolina.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

- Work collaboratively with the VP of Mission Advancement and other members of the staff at to develop strategic plans to engage the local community with our organization through multiple channels.
- Responsible for cultivating and maintaining a portfolio of internal and external special events and programs, corporate partnerships, cause marketing campaigns, and various philanthropic partnerships with individuals and organizations within the assigned geographic territory.
- Meet face-to-face with potential fundraising partners, community volunteers, and other constituency groups to guide them in the development and execution of fundraising initiatives and provide varying levels of support as appropriate.
- Lead, promote and manage execution of the Wishes in Bloom gala, as well as other local internal and external events, to ensure that each event is strategic and provides an excellent ROI for the chapter. Develop revenue strategies to achieve stated goals, specifically by working to secure and steward sponsorships.
- Execute and enhance assigned national partnership campaigns at the local level.
- Work closely with key development staff on all forms of donor stewardship.
- Work in partnership with Make-A-Wish America on best practices and fully utilize resources available at the national office.
OTHER DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent the chapter at various local public speaking engagements and media appearances.
- Assist as needed in developing and implementing the strategic fundraising plan and revenue budget.
- Ensure that donor records in the Raiser's Edge database are current and maintained so that the data has a high degree of accuracy.
- Assist other staff, particularly the program services team, with in-kind solicitations for wishes and other events as needed.
- Coordinate with the Director of Communications to produce marketing and PR materials as needed.
- Assist in cultivating and managing strategic individual donor and volunteer relationships.
- Perform other duties as required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS or comparable experience preferred.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in fundraising, special event management, business development, sales and marketing, annual fund leadership, membership or alumni management experience is preferred.
- A solid understanding of the business value of philanthropy, including the advancement of nonprofit causes and missions, while also delivering strong value to corporate and special event partners.
- Requires excellent project management, customer service, interpersonal, writing, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work weekend and evening events/functions as required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
