Social Media Coordinator
The Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts is seeking to fill the position of Social Media Coordinator (Public Information Coordinator).
Reporting to the Dean of the Edwards College, this position plays a critical role by leading the creation, development, maintenance, and execution of the social media accounts of the university's most diverse colleges. The social media coordinator will manage all aspects of the college's social media, including the oversight of the departmental and program-related accounts and their social media coordinators. They will create, schedule, and manage content for a diversity of initiatives centrally at the college level and in coordination with program accounts. They will be responsible to promoting and increasing the brand awareness of the university and college initiatives through engagement and traffic generation. As part of the college Publication and Production Group, the social media coordinator will collaborate with our college portfolio of departments, programs, and centers by assisting with the development and implementation of online marketing, advertising, and communication plans and campaigns.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: manage all aspects of the college's social media; oversee the department and program-based social media coordinators; promote and increase the brand awareness and dissemination of information about initiatives at the university, the Edwards College, and the Cultural Arts; collaborate with the other members of the group, the Deans, and the leadership in the departments, programs, and centers by assisting with the development and implementation of online marketing, advertising, and communication plans and campaigns; attend college events, including Cultural Arts programming; follow College community initiatives and outreach; coordinate content generation and social media outreach closely with the College leadership team; create, schedule, and manage content for a wide array of initiatives; post and interact with users on a daily basis following the University's social media policy and best practices. Implement effective social media marketing, promotions, and communication plans and campaigns across the college; develop, schedule, and post engaging content related to the college; closely coordinate all social media campaigns with other platforms and media, including print, digital, and web channels; engage with college and university leadership and stakeholders on brand communication; and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, social media, business or a related field and related experience in social media management and analytics are required. A valid driver's license is also required. Previous experience working with social media platforms, policies, and a variety of accounts is preferred. Previous experience inclusive of time management, decision making and public relations is also preferred.
