SUMMIT is a multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting services firm offering Construction Materials Testing, Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering and Forensic Inspections, Residential and Retaining Wall Design, Subsurface Drilling, and Chapter 17 Special Inspections, Advanced AASHTO, ACI, AMRL, CCRL and NCDOT Laboratory Testing.

Job Position Summary:
As the Junior Recruiter, you will provide company-wide talent acquisition support. This role will be responsible for the recruitment of professional, field, and administrative personnel using multiple search techniques and engagement approaches. You will be a key contributor assisting, developing and executing strategies to deliver a pipeline of qualified and engaged candidates. The Junior Recruiter will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting from job description creation, sourcing, networking/hiring events, interviews, extending offers and onboarding procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
Your day as a Corporate Recruiter at SUMMIT will be both challenging and rewarding. During which, you have the opportunity to create lasting relationships with your team members. On a typical day, you can expect to:

  • Conduct full-cycle recruiting for open positions including entry-level and experience roles
  • Assist with the execution of the company-wide and position-specific sourcing and recruiting strategies
  • Partner with Corporate Recruiter, HR manager, hiring managers and management to develop candidate profiles and job descriptions for open and upcoming requisitions; post jobs on internal/external social media outlets and job boards
  • Communicate with hiring managers throughout recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process
  • Source candidates and identify top talent for job opportunities with SUMMIT through utilization of job boards and recruiting tools to proactively locate candidates
  • Perform initial outreach to candidates to gain their interest in job opportunities
  • Conduct telephone interview screenings
  • Provide detailed, accurate interview notes along with hiring recommendations to hiring managers
  • Communicate with potential applicants by phone, emails or in person to ensure a great candidate experience through the recruitment and hiring process
  • Communicate progress and coordinate updates with hiring managers and candidates
  • Set appointments, make travel arrangements for candidates as needed
  • Coordinate and manage on-campus branding and recruiting activities to include career fairs, information sessions, lunch and learns, class talks, site visits, etc.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with universities, community colleges and local organizations to participate in job fairs or networking events across divisional locations
  • Develop marketing materials to publicize company-wide career opportunities, specific roles, and company culture
  • Manage Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and SUMMIT career webpage
  • Contribute to company social media accounts to highlight open positions, upcoming branding/recruiting events, new hires and company culture
  • Process pre-employments screenings for final candidates and draw up/extend final offers of employment
  • Attend industry and professional associations meetings/events
  • Coordinate new hire equipment and orientation materials and conduct new hire orientations
  • Contribute ideas and assist with employee engagement events and monthly employee newsletters
  • Manage internal referrals from current employees
  • Maintain periodic activity, pipeline, and outcome reporting
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel and candidate information at all times
  • Work directly with the HR team with additional tasks as assigned
Education and Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a focus in business, management, human resources, psychology or related field
  • Required: 2-4 years of corporate recruiting and/or campus recruiting, or closely related experience
  • Preferred: Campus recruitment and recruitment of entry-level talent
  • Preferred: Proven ability to develop and implement a recruiting strategy with successful results
  • Preferred: Event planning experience
Technical Skills:
· Required knowledge: Microsoft Suite and social media posting procedures
· Preferred knowledge: ATS system(s), HRIS systems, LinkedIn Recruiter

Working Conditions:
Work setting is in an office atmosphere and remote setting. There is exposure to moderate level of noise that could include business office with computers and printers with light traffic throughout. Some after hours and travel will be required, specifically during February, March, September & October to job fairs as well as throughout the year for onboarding purposes and events in different office locations.
Physical Requirements:
These physical demands are representative of what a recruiter may encounter in the field and are essential functions of this position.
You must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. You will have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. This employee with occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
