Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Carrying out experiments and tests, such as checking product quality.

2. Analyzing properties of fibers and textiles.

3. Checking product quality, consistency and durability (physical weight, strengths, evenness, twists and NEPS).

4. Monitor quality control using testing procedures. This may involve visiting the factory floor and taking samples from the production line.

5. Work closely with other Textile department managers to ensure good communication and cooperation.

6. Ensure all laboratory resources are utilized efficiently and correctly.

7. Maintain cleanliness of the work area.

8. Follow written and verbal instructions.

9. Report any production or quality issues to management immediately.

10. Report any unsafe work practices or conditions to management immediately.

11. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.

Knowledge Skills / Experience / Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of lab machinery and correlation to production results

Metric/goal driven - methodical in actions and detail oriented

Basic knowledge of Computer Operation

Must be able to do simple mathematic calculations, able to read manuals, and follow directions

Good organization and prioritization skills required to keep track of laboratory data and information
