Electrical Systems Engineer
SUMMARY:
Expand your professional portfolio as an Electrical Systems Engineer with our client in Greer, SC. As the Electrical Systems Engineer, will be responsible for design of electrical systems ranging from 100amp buck/boost DC-DC converters to embedded controller boards. While the system hardware and software development environments are currently in place, the Electrical Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to guide future improvements in the system and ultimately has a significant influence on the client's success. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
REQUIREMENTS:
- M.S. in a STEM Engineering major with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 5 years automotive component or system product design experience (preferred)
- 3 years of experience in an electrical system design for power electronics and control systems.
- Experience designing for EMI mitigation and EMC compliance testing (preferred)
- Use of Multimeter, Oscilloscope, power supplies, and other tools to diagnose electrical problems within a complex system
- Ability to scope work and set a schedule for an electrical system design
- Soldering skills - PCB surface mount (preferred)
- Experience in DC-DC conversion
- Proficient in technical writing and communication skills necessary for internal and external engineering communications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead design and development of power and control system hardware for use on Hydrogen fuel cell systems
- Develop schematics utilizing industry standards for documentation and circuit design
- Design physical layouts of PCB assemblies in coordination with the mechanical engineering group to ensure fitment across the product line
- Assist in procurement and testing of prototype and early production designs
- Participate in Engineering Design Reviews and lead new Electrical Design Review meetings
- Set and meet schedules based on company objectives and personal abilities
- Work with product engineers to validate new components and circuitry prior to selection and the Development Lab to assist with any troubleshooting and manufacturability or design improvement considerations that need to be addressed
- Engage in design reviews and developing written circuit analysis reports and DFMEA
- Participates in internal Design Reviews as needed for all applicable projects
- Provide Circuit Analysis or other design related deliverables in support of customer PDR and CDR
- Operate as a system knowledge expert to assist with debug of complex problems on completed prototype and production products
