Job description
Beach Team Gymnastics at Terry & Don's is seeking a Competitive & Non-competitive Team Gymnastics Coach and a Preschool & Instructional Gymnastics Coach . No Experience Necessary. We provide training in-house.
Pre-School & Instructional Gymnastics Coach Job Responsibilities:
Preschool & Instructional Gymnastics Coaches help students learn how to properly & safely perform beginner, intermediate and advanced gymnastics.
- Lead, assist and supervise classes with boys and girls of different age groups and skill levels.
- Introduce skills, drills & shapes for each event, following the lesson plans provided by Beach Team Gymnastics.
- Maintain proper class control & management, and a safe & positive atmosphere concentrate on all gymnasts (don't pick favorites), don't tolerate disrespectful behavior, practice positive reinforcement
- Assess the skills of each gymnast quarterly to determine pre-team readiness,
- Complete attendance, assessments and timesheets on time
- Prepare stations, coordinate lesson plans with other instructor before class begins
- Stay active & engaged with students at all times.
- Never sit or chat with coworkers/parents etc. while coaching
- Always make sure the gym is properly set up & ready for the next class before you leave!
Competitive & Non-Competitive Team Gymnastics Coach Job Responsibilities :
Team Gymnastics is a great way to demonstrate skills in a competitive team atmosphere. Terry and Don's is home of 25 years of State Champions, Regional Champions and National Qualifiers! Competitive Coaches help students learn how to properly & safely perform beginner, intermediate and advanced gymnastics at pre-competitive & competitive levels.
- Be a TEAM PLAYER. We all work together to make sure our gymnasts receive only the highest quality training.
- Be adaptive to coaching challenges. Ask more experienced coaching staff for help!
- Learn USAG rules, policies and guidelines as needed for the levels you are coaching.
- Work with and shadow more experienced coaching staff to learn team preferred/proper methods/requirements for coaching team gymnasts drills, progressions, shapes, skills, and routines.
- Create/follow lesson plans for your groups as required.
- Lead, assist and supervise team practices for various ages and skill levels.

- No leaning, sitting, chatting or being otherwise distracted from your gymnasts
- Always make sure the gym is clean and properly set up before you leave!
Set up a safe gym environment:
- Adhere to safe practices for all equipment
- Ensure correct technique is used while spotting
- Review gym and facility safety with new gymnasts
- Adapt equipment for age, ability, and size of gymnast
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
Additional Requirements:
- A love of kids (and a lot of patience) and a love of gymnastics!
- Positive, enthusiastic, outgoing attitude
- Reliable & punctual. Always arrive at least 15 minutes early.
- Successfully pass all USAG requirements within 2 weeks of employment.
- Beach Team Gym will pay for USAG memberships, background checks, and other training deemed necessary.
- Adhere to company dress code
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds; physical activity is involved in spotting and moving equipment: pulling, lifting, crouching, balancing, and climbing
- The ability to professionally communicate and foster professional relationships
- Be flexible & available to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Be a team player. Pick up extra shifts occasionally. Cover coworkers when they need help. Be helpful and supportive. Go the extra mile.
Compensation depends on experience.
