Responsibilities:
We are seeking a unique individual to assist with our financial reporting and accounting processes. The Assistant Controller will report to the Controller and will also interact with the Chief Financial Officer, President and Operations Leader.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the Controller in the monthly close process
Direct responsibility for journal entry and general ledger generation and maintenance
Review and analyze general ledger activity to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions, including coordination with A/R, A/P, purchasing, invoicing, HR to include Payroll and other functional areas
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly
Liaise with various intercompany contacts to ensure transactions are processed in a complete, accurate and timely manner in accordance with company policies.
Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and documented accounting policies
Assist the Controller with corporate requests for items including upload of monthly financials, daily cash and cash forecast, intercompany reconciliation, financial review, audit requests, etc.
Partner with plant(s), divisional and corporate management to help understand and interpret financial performance.
Account for, report, and remit government taxes
Assist the Controller & Operations with the cycle count and physical inventory processes with operations
Assist Controller with inventory cost accounting (and the related bills of materials to ensure costing accurately reflects operations)
Assist the Controller and Chief Financial Officer in preparing the annual financial budget
Respond to divisional and corporate requests for information in a timely manner; assist in the completion of special ad hoc projects.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Profile
3+ years of experience with progressive responsibilities, preferably in roles such as Senior Accountant, or Junior Controller. Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting required.
BS. in accounting or finance related field
Strong in Microsoft Excel and proficient with major ERP systems (QAD would be ideal) and accounting software
Candidate Attributes
