The Business Development Manager represents our highly complex molecular and specialized testing services. They plan, develop, and manage long-term relationships with physicians and clinical laboratories to attain or exceed sales targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meets or exceeds sales budget by selling the full product menu in their respective sales territory.
  • Provides expertise in our full product menu.
  • Manages opportunities from initial targeting, through maintaining existing business; implementing market initiatives.
  • Prospects, Cold Calls, and works from referrals to gain new accounts. Maintains current customer base.
  • Adds depth to accounts either through additional users or expanded use of menu.
  • Utilizes internal and external resources to increase business and manage business.
  • Manages all internal resources as a valuable team member.
  • Communicates any differences with respect and with the goal of resolving any customer problems together.
  • Identifies accounts for EMR connection - both Bridge and Full Implementation.
  • Schedules dinners, lunches, and breakfast events as needed or required.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in business or life sciences required.
  • 3+ years previous sales/service experience.
  • Internal Candidates - 1+ year demonstrated success in ASR position with a minimum test volume of 150 tests per month.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress.
  • Documented sales performance or past supervisor reference re: sales results.
  • Ability to adequately research, survey, and analyze opportunities and demonstrate experience in managing both internal and external resources.
  • Detail oriented while maintaining an extremely positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Must have a demonstrated successful sales track record, solid negotiation skills, understanding of buyer/decision maker types, exhibit effective selling, listening, and verbal/presentation skills, and ability to assess and respond to customer needs.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
