What youâll learn & achieve::
UL is seeking enthusiastic, detail oriented, and reliable candidates for the position of Software Quality Assurance Analyst. The successful candidate will have natural intellectual curiosity with a strong analysis and technical background. This person must be a driven self-starter; who has a sense of urgency; who can meet deadlines despite obstacles; and who is never satisfied with 'good enough'. A balance of strong technical experience along with excellent communication and team interaction skills will be key to the success of this role.

Significant Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Work as a highly functioning team member on an Agile Scrum team

Perform test and evaluation activities which include writing test plans, developing test cases, executing test plans and writing defects and test reports

Detailed functional testing of multi-tier web-based applications

Lead test plan review meetings with your scrum team

Effectively report problems and defects with applications under test

Work proactively with developers, product managers, IT and technical support to resolve issues in a timely manner

Participate and provide input in backlog grooming and technical design review meetings

Maintain high level of knowledge of the applications under test

Build strong relationships across cross functional teams

Help define, implement and maintain quality assurance methodologies, processes, and metrics that all stakeholders can rally behind

What makes you a great fit::
3+ years' experience as a QA analyst, engineer, or related technical position in software

Proven knowledge and understanding of industry standard quality assurance methodologies, standards and best practices

Exceptional organizational, time management and project management skills

Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentations)

Strong analytical and diagnostic skills

Thorough understanding of and experience working on Agile Scrum teams

Knowledge of: UI, Middle Tier and Database development and testing

Strong understanding of various hardware, operating systems and database platforms

Experience with SQL and database testing

Experience working within distributed teams desirable

Mobile testing experience a plus

Experience with performance testing software/tools a plus

Knowledge and experience with various automated testing tools and methods used in web based applications a plus

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
