Job description

Overview:
Vacation Youth Basketball Coaches will assist in the execution of Memphis Grizzlies Camps and Clinics during the month of December. Coaches will help teach fundamentals of the sport while delivering exciting and rewarding experiences for all involved. This is a short-term project.

Responsibilities:
Coach and officiate teams during scrimmages, ensuring equal playing time and constructive team play.

Motivate and encourage participants with a positive and caring demeanor. Show constant enthusiasm and assist in delivering messaging about sportsmanship, teamwork, and similar Grizzlies Youth Basketball principles.

Ensure participant safety by monitoring activities and by reporting potential injury and/or disciplinary concerns.

Interact with parents, guardians, facility staff, and other program customers, while always remaining respectful and cordial

Assist with operational tasks such as setup and breakdown, check-in and check-out, giveaway distribution.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Essential:

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum playing experience at the high school level, or minimum coaching experience at the middle school, AAU, or high school levels.

Passion for youth development along with the ability to communicate and teach the game clearly and effectively.

Good physical condition with ability to demonstrate basketball drills and techniques as required.

Reliable transportation to and from sessions, along with punctuality relative to assigned hours.

Full availability during Grizzlies Vacation Camps () and Gameday Clinic ().

Preferred:

College education is a plus.

College playing experience or coaching experience at the college level is a huge plus.

Knowledge of and passion for NBA basketball
