Job description

Vanderbilt University seeks an Assistant Professor of the
Practice of Climate Studies to teach in the new interdisciplinary
Climate Studies major, scheduled to launch in Fall 2022 in
the College of Arts & Science at Vanderbilt. This major is part
of a group of broad initiatives on climate change across the
university.
Responsibilities for the successful candidate might include an
interdisciplinary introductory course, a methods or practices
course, upper-level special topics courses, and capstone-immersion
courses. The position carries a 3-2 course load. Other
responsibilities include serving as Director of Undergraduate
Studies. This is a non-tenure-track three year appointment with the
possibility of renewal pending a review process.

Qualifications:
We seek candidates with scholarly interests and strong teaching
skills in areas related to climate change and its impacts on
society. We invite candidates from the humanities, social
sciences, or natural sciences, with a preference for a social
scientist with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary engagement.
