We are seeking a Patient Safety Attendant for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Job Summary:

The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing observation and monitoring for high risk patients. In collaboration with the patient care team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm.

• You will will document on behavioral health patients every 15 minutes and non-behavioral health patients every 4 hours.
• You will will be responsible for monitoring high risk patients by direct observation or camera.
• You will participate in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars/professional development as requested by manager.
• You will maintain compliance with federal, state and other governing bodies and you will observe and abides by established safety practices.
• You will demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures involved in performing job duties.
• You will follow directions from Primary/Charge nurse to meet the patient needs.

Qualifications

• Healthcare career oriented (preferred- RN program participant)
• Minimum High School Graduate
• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees.
• Current BLS required
• CPI required within 3 months of hire
