Job description

Overview:The AVP Architecture enables business agility by digitizing and integrating processes, systems and data to deliver services and capabilities that improve efficiency, increase value delivery, and ultimately improve the customer experience. The AVP Architecture actively engages in understanding business strategies and desired business outcomes to define simple, effective, resilient technology architectures. The Architecture team members define the system and solution architecture and partner with or embed in Scrum teams to communicate and adapt the architecture, rally around a shared technology vision, and rapidly develop skills and technology solutions. To accomplish this, the AVP Architecture promotes leadership and team development, a solid understanding of system/solution architecture, software engineering in a public cloud environment, an understanding of large-scale automated deployment, and a track record of designing high quality, available, secure, and useful systems.As a technology leader, you work across organizational silos to achieve strategic alignment and deliver business value. You are an avid promoter of process improvement and using the right technologies to enhance developer productivity. You understand the business architecture and use this information to constantly optimize the value stream.As a manager of managers, you model the role of a leader, coach leadership with your direct reports, align your goals with theirs, provide feedback, and help them grow their careers. You support experimentation and innovation, and champion initiatives that help your teams create and implement products faster and better. You work closely with your managers to anticipate and remove impediments.Responsibilities:JOB DUTIESUnderstand, communicate, and commit to the organization's vision, goals, and strategies Translate vision to technical solutions while balancing risk, investment needs and fit for purposeCollaborate with product management to define and communicate technical architecture roadmaps, IT information strategy and future directionGovern the adoption of technology standards and the investment to implement the standardsAnalyze complex issues, apply financial analysis, and use sound judgment to make strategic decisions that balance long and short term business goals and objectives Serve as subject matter expert for key technical challenges (eg systems/data integration/analytics)Foster open communication that welcomes information sharing, seeks input from others, and values diverse viewpointsTake an active role in defining metrics that measure our ability to deliver on business and service level objectives; use metrics to improve process and productPerform other duties as assignedConform with all company policies and proceduresQualifications:KnowledgeUnderstanding of and investment in emotional intelligence components: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skillWorking knowledge of and architectural decision-making experience with public cloud technologies, particularly PaaS offeringsExperience in software development and test automation relevant to the product team (eg mobile, web, or database development) with a drive for continual learningExperience with automation toolsets and a mandate to automate everywhere for repeatability, scale, and efficiencyExperience working in and coaching Agile Scrum teamsSkillsAbility to scope and lead creation of "minimum viable product"; prioritizing critical tasks, and utilizing test and learn approaches to iteratively deliver technical and business solutionsProvide leadership through influence, inspiration, collaboration and teamworkIdentify opportunities, facilitate ideation, and champion initiatives that deliver measurable business valuePresent team strategies and accomplishments to senior executives and peersEstablish strong working relationships and build trust with peersListen actively and communicate effectively with others both orally and in writingApply creative thinking and negotiations skills to develop solutions that are acceptable to different needsEducationHigh School Diploma requiredBachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience requiredExperience7-10 years of experience in information systems (experience should include extensive project related work, preferably application development projects and data warehouse projects) required2-4 years public cloud experience preferredWorking ConditionsSubject to stressful situationsFast-paced office environmentStrong focus on providing quality service to internal and external customersLimited travel may be required to support business needs#LI-WB1
