Job description
As our business growth continues we have established the need to add an additional Technical Data/Business Analyst to our CorVel team in Portland, Oregon. The BSA team is responsible for implementing and configuring workflows and automation for complex regulatory rules. In this role, you will be working with both business stakeholders and engineering teams to define requirements, create solutions, and automate multiple business processes within the system. The ideal candidate will be analytical, possess a keen attention to detail, and have organizational skills, along with technical abilities to produce quality products under tights and strict deadlines.
Major responsibilities include:
- Work with team members, software engineers, and business stakeholders to gain expertise with medical review data/state regulations and how these function in our production environments.
- Interact with software engineers, technical staff and state experts to help identify, analyze, and resolve issues as they arise.
- Work with business stakeholders to determine new opportunities for automation and increased quality controls in our core products. Follow team protocol for updating, recording and organizing documentation.
- Ensure maintenance and addition of regulatory and claims management rules are thoroughly reviewed and have passed quality assurance checks prior to production release.
- Apply system knowledge to diagnose and resolve complex business problems.
- Follow quality assurance guidelines, processes and procedures as determined by department manager.
- Follow established escalation protocol when issues arise that may cause backlog of release expectations.
- Acquire extensive business and system knowledge.

- Identify, document, and communicate all issues discovered in the course of analysis/projects.
Essential Job Qualifications:
- Microsoft T-SQL programming skills (or other query languages).
- Technical aptitude for learning systems and technical processes.
- Adept at thriving in a fast pace environment with firm deadlines.
- Analytical, problem solving and resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage details and timelines for multiple simultaneous complex projects.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical team members with varying communication styles, both locally and remote.
- Understand data and trends, and how to leverage data/trends in reports.
- Experience with automation of reports/monitoring.
- Professional interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written.
Required:
- Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree.
- 2+ years of Microsoft T-SQL programming skills (or other query languages).
- Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
- Exposure to application development fundamentals.
- Demonstrated ability to produce consistent, quality work under deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Effective quantitative, analytical and interpretive skills.
- Advanced abilities in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Health industry and/or insurance billing experience a plus.
- Power BI is a plus.
