JOB SUMMARY The Austin Habitat for Humanity is seeking a self-motivator with effective communication, active listening skills and relationship-building skills to attract mission driven candidates to join our team. A successful Talent Acquisition Specialist will collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. We want a candidate that has been successful in engaging candidates through multichannel communication, i.e., social media recruiting, mobile-centric recruitment processes, employee referrals and virtual platform tools. The responsibilities of the Talent Acquisition Specialist is to ensure our company attracts, hires and retains the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media etc.
  • Screen resumes and job applications of candidates.
  • Partners with hiring managers to clarify specific job objectives, requirements and preferences.
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule.
  • Assess applicants' relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes.
  • Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrated.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
  • Promote company's reputation as "best place to work".
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records and documentation,
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Special duties and/or projects as assigned- TWC hearings, Workers' Compensation reporting.

  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma/GED with 6 years of experience, or Associate's degree w/ 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree w/ 2 years of experience required.
