What you'll achieve

The Dell Technologies Product and Operations Chief Technology Office is looking for a Technology Strategy Analyst to join our influential and fast-moving Insights team, charged with spearheading thought leadership and shaping the future of Dell.

In this role, you will blend technology and business analysis, develop strategic analysis for emerging technologies and collaborate with CTO technologists and researchers to extract maximum value from our cutting-edge research and build actionable insights for Dell's leadership, technology and business teams.

Major Functional areas:

Market Trends and Analysis

  • Understand current & future trends in key technology themes (e.g. Edge, Data Management, Security), and emerging markets such as Edge and 5G to evaluate Dell's optimal plays
  • Analyze the competitive and ecosystems landscape, including development of frameworks and SWOTs to analyze competitive trends and moves

Research Analysis and Insights
  • Compile business analysis to complement cutting edge tech research, focusing on deriving implications for Dell
  • Develop business models for potential new businesses and offers, in collaboration with OCTO's innovation engine

Customer Needs Analysis and Outreach, Industry Trend Analysis
  • Be in charge of understanding demand-side dynamics through customer outreach as well as secondary research activities
  • Drive relationships with industry analysts

Internal Stakeholder Analysis and Support
  • Analyze strategies and plans across Dell's Product Groups, Strategically Aligned Businesses, Services and Sales organization
  • Work with OCTO evangelists and Insights platform teams to communicate and optimize our messages for internal and external stake holders
  • Work with CTO Ambassadors to promote understand customer demand in vertical and/or horizontal markets and promote insights from OCTO's innovation engine

Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience framing, hypothesizing, researching/testing, gaining approval, and pushing strategic efforts
  • Undergraduate degree, MBA preferred
  • 2-4+ years client facing experience with a top tier strategy consulting firm, or 5+ years of experience in the IT product marketplace, leading industry analyst firms or venture capital including: Technologist or business strategist, Product/Offer Planning and Marketing, Complex products and solutions sales, Customer Success Team Leadership, Portfolio Strategist, Deep Technology knowledge and soup to nuts strategy development, Strategic analysis and business modeling skills
