Volunteer Coordinator
Mission Statement: The Elizabeth House Maternity Home is a nonprofit organization established for charitable, educational, and sustainable purposes. Our organization believes in the sanctity of all human life and the innate value of each person. Based on these beliefs, our goal is to provide women in crisis pregnancy and their children with safe housing and the physical, emotional, and spiritual support necessary to empower them in their journey towards independence.
Hours of Service: 10-15 hours per week
Job Description: Under direction and guidance of the Executive Director and Program Director, serve as the volunteer coordinator, cultivating and coordinating volunteers for needed activities. Volunteer Coordinator and Program Director work together on matters pertaining to classes, schedules, rides, celebrations and will report directly to The ExecutiveDirector.
Responsibilities: Cultivate and train volunteers o This consists of researching student groups, church groups and other resources to bring in volunteers for fun Fridays, rides, babysitting, and other areas needed. o Setting up training sessions with potential volunteers and ensuring all volunteers are trained
- Maintain volunteer calendar and database to include volunteer activity and hours to be reported to theProgram Director o This consists of checking the volunteer phone, and ride requests form, updating the CareCalendar, updating the Time Tree app, checking with volunteers, keeping up with the resident's work, grocery, childcare, school, and medical schedule. o Ensuring proper tags are entered into Nation builder o Answering phone calls and emails promptly.
Schedule parenting, nutrition, baby care, and finance classes with volunteers o This consists of locating volunteers for classes and maintaining volunteers for EHMH curriculum Schedule Fun Fridays o This consists of researching groups and contacting contact person from these groups for everyFriday of the month.
- Schedule and run special events such as Birthday parties, baby showers, graduations, Christmas,Valentine's Day, Easter, and Mother's Day o This consists of creating a wish list, invitation, zoom link, donation drop off location, mailing location and ensuring volunteers who sign up to attend are vetted.
Schedule babysitting and rides for residents o Consists of locating trained volunteers and maintaining contact in order to ensure babysitting needs are met Schedule monthly donation drives o This consists of creating advert for social media, nation builder, organizing drop off location, creating wish list in amazon o Working with and cultivating relationships for donation drives which includes communication with the community, and volunteers.
- Annual Banquet o Coordinate volunteers for the September banquet

o Assist Executive Director in planning and execution Duties could include but are not limited to planning silent auction, procuring silent auction items, and other duties as assigned. Maintain volunteer phone line. Maintain confidentiality of resident and agency information. Consult with the Executive Director regarding personal time off (PTO), sick and vacation days, and changes to the schedule. Participate effectively as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing and problem solving. o Attend weekly staff meetings o Step in when volunteers are not available for rides if approved by Executive Director
- Consult with and report to the Program Director on items related to the home and its residents.Qualifications and Background:
A heart for this ministry Agreement with our Mission Statement Criminal background check - required prior to hiring Understanding/acceptance of Christian teachings, especially regarding the life issues Strong interpersonal communication skills Organizational and time-management skills Basic computer skills to enter data, and create and generate reports Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with staff A valid driver's license and MVR (Motor Vehicle Registration) clearance
