Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Polymer Formulation Scientist position for a specialty chemical company in The Woodlands, TX. The overall responsibility of this role is to develop high performance systems for composite applications in a research and development environment.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory investigations to develop new product formulations and application technologies.
• Material and process characterization for thermal and mechanical properties.
• Manage multiple priorities simultaneously to meet timelines, deliverables, and objectives.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property such as patents, papers, presentations etc.
• Work well in a team environment and maintain close, cooperative relationships with colleagues.

Job Requirements:

• BS/MS in Chemistry, Chemical/Polymer Engineering or Materials Science or closely related field.
• 3-5 years' experience in thermoset chemistry, formulation, and characterization.
• Ability to independently define and execute experimental programs.
• Significant laboratory experience in industrial polymer area.
• Hands on experience with thermal analysis and mechanical testing equipment such as DSC, DMA, TGA and mechanical testing.
• Creative problem-solving ability; critical thinking and data analysis skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities are critical for job success.
• Demonstrates initiative and drive through accomplished tasks. Demonstrated ability to follow through on mutually agreed upon ideas and goals.
