Imperium Commodity Search has been retained by a market-leading Global Commodity IDB/FCM continuing its expansion within the North American Energy markets, we are working in partnership with the firm to seek experienced Oil Cargo Brokers to lead the development of this new desk with coverage of (Crude, Fuel Oil, Gas Oil, Refined products, MGO etc). Whilst the firm has a market-leading business across Physical and Derivative Energy markets from Crude through to Renewables they continue their ambitious growth plans into new sectors. Supported by market-leading technology, ability to cross-sell and up sell through the firms execution, clearing and trading facilities providing a fantastic platform to leverage and build this desk from.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for developing the Cargo brokerage desk on both physical and derivative markets Oil Caro Broker VLSO, Crude, Refined Products, Crude)
  • Develop strong relations with Refiners, Producers, Trading Houses, Oil Majors across the domestic North American market and globally become a partner of choice.
  • Provide Voice/Electronic execution services, facilitating physical and derivative (Futures, Swaps, Options) Trades within the Oil cargo markets.
  • Produce accurate market data reports and pricing spreads for customers and third parties, ability to cross-reference analysis from research houses and platforms such as Reuters, Bloomberg etc.
  • Ability to promote and cross-sell the company's services such as 24hr execution desk, Clearing facilities, best of class trading and analytical platforms.
  • Key understanding of market flows, hedging, risk management, and Energy derivative products (Futures, Options, Swaps) within the Crude, Fuel Oil, Gas Oil, Refined products, VLSO, ULSD etc)
  • Identify new business areas within the Cargo markets working closely with the global desks within the group covering the same/related markets to build out business for the North American region.


Experience:


  • 4+ years' experience in a Cargo broking / brokering capacity within an IDB/FCM/Physical shop covering the Oil Cargo markets.
  • Strong market relations with suppliers, Refiners, Producers, End users, Trading houses, Oil Majors within both the North American & Global Oil Cargo sector.
  • Understanding of Trading strategies and market flows for Oil Cargo's (Fuel Oil, Gas Oil, Crude, Refined Products, MGO, ULSD, VLSO etc)
  • Excellent understanding of Derivatives products Swaps / Options / Futures and execution experience within the Energy markets.
  • Proven record of developing new business, ability to work closely with senior management and counterparties in establishing a new desk and Markets.
  • Track record in producing strong revenue flows within the Oil Cargo / Oil Products market with a transferable portfolio of business.
  • Series 3 NFA license
  • US Citizenship or existing work permit required
