Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: Mon - Thur 9 hours, Friday 4 hours

This is a great opportunity to get involved in challenging and interesting design projects for various clients within the energy & chemicals industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform as a senior professional in a lead capacity in planning, preparing, and supervising the development of detailed design and specifications for major and complex structures, systems, and equipment.
Perform site visits and project walk downs requiring climbing and as-built information gathering. This may require working with surveying equipment and other measuring tools.
Design foundations for heavy process structures and equipment, dynamic and rotating equipment, along with industrial facility expansions.
Design structural steel open process structures, pipe racks, modifications to existing facilities, and modular structures.
Develop civil site plans for modifications to existing facilities with an understanding of stormwater management, underground piping design, and in-plant roads/traffic planning.
Participate in project planning and preparation of budgets and estimates.
Serve in a technical capacity to provide solutions to complex engineering problems within the Civil / Structural department.
Participate in preparation and presentation of departmental training.
Work with client engineers to develop design compatible with client requirements.
Coordinate within the department and with the project group regarding the job(s) they are supervising. Provide the necessary reporting and project controls methods to keep projects on track.
Coordinate and confer with other disciplines to implement procedures, resolve design issues, and provide technical information.
Assist the Gulf Coast C/S Department Manager with estimating activities within the department and provide or review estimated civil and structural quantities and costs.
Responsible for assigning personnel to all jobs according to specific project requirements
Supervise civil and structural design activities on projects including quality, schedule, and budgets.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
Assist with conducting employee performance review meetings.
Assist as needed in new business development and have a general understanding of contractual requirements.
Keep current in applicable design codes and standards.
Assist the Gulf Coast C/S Department Manager with the teaching and training efforts of department engineers and designers.
All other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural.
12+ years of experience working as an Engineer in the Industrial Construction/Services Industry.
Must have a proven record of leadership, strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills as well as be capable of working in a self-directed capacity.
Knowledge of STAAD, Enercalc, Tedds, and similar analyst software.
Ability to check calculations and drawings.
Familiarity with 3D design and viewing software such as Cadworx & Navisworks.
Knowledge and understanding of engineering, construction, and project management.
Ability to make good judgments and quick decisions.
Proven negotiation skills.
Strong language skills (written and oral).
Strong math skills.
Possess strong computer skills, especially in Excel and Word.
Expert technical knowledge of suppliers' products and capabilities.
Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to thrive in a team working environment.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Must maintain active status in a drug and/or alcohol testing consortium.
Full and ongoing compliance with and adherence to all vaccination requirements, as may be established by the company from time to time or by or for a particular job site.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Masters Degree.
Licensed Professional Engineer.
