Business Development Manager | Architecture & Interior Design Industry | Texas Territory
Position Preview: The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing a network in Texas. This exciting role will provide the opportunity to make a real difference and will appeal to a dynamic sales leader with experience in the architecture and interior design arena who enjoys working as part of a team.
The Business Development Manager will have the responsibility of developing and managing key architecture and interior design accounts for the firm. It is our goal to have our business development managers build strong direct relationships with residential design firms, builders, designers, specifiers, architects and FF&E purchasing firms. The role requires a dedicated, ethical, and resourceful professional with an entrepreneurial passion for building markets and strong relationships. The expectation is that the business development manager is meeting with clients giving presentations, promoting and assisting in brand development plus building a strong project pipeline.
Key Position Responsibilities
- Develop the overall strategies to meet or exceed sales goals and objectives
- Develop expertise around our brand, products, capabilities, and services
- Focus on key account relationships understanding their customers' needs and how our company can be helpful
- Hold meetings with designers to work on their projects; share new product introductions, solve design challenges, and find ways to inspire them
- Qualify projects and demonstrate how the company's capabilities may be of best service
- Develop and continuously refine strategic account plans with the objective of capturing new ways to enhance the client experience while maximizing sales volume
- Build and maintain a strong project pipeline in line with the sales budget
- Enhance relationships with key client decision makers and influencers in the architecture and interior design community
- Consistently provide accurate market feedback to identify trends, assist with product development and product needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, business administration, sales or related field
- 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably outside sales, in the architecture and interior design market with established relationships in the industry
- Strong track record of growing a territory and meeting sales goals
- A deep understanding of the textile industry and competitive landscape
- A deep network and list of contacts in the A&D community in Texas
- Key account management experience
- Drive for results; high energy and engagement, confidence, and passion for your work
- Develop tactical plans to meet sales goals within existing key accounts and new accounts.
- Resourcefulness and tenacity
- Positive attitude and is optimistic
- Excellent written, verbal, negotiating and communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational ability, and follow-up skills
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to present self and the company in a professional manner
- Ability to travel the territory for meetings and presentations
Compensations and Benefits
- Annual Base + Commission Structure - total comp $150,000+
- Annual Base Salary, range based on experience and certifications
