Who You Are

* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or equivalent
* 2 or more years' experience in similar role; advanced degree or certification(s) in lieu of experience.
* Experience with high volume manufacturing processes
* Strong computer skills including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access and exposure to MRP platforms, preferably JDA, SAP.
* Experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles and problem resolution i.e. Making Materials Flow, PFEP/Optimizer, Kanban, 5W, PDCA.
What You'll Do
As a Buyer Planner you'll be part of our Hand Tools & Storage Group team located in Cheraw, SC. Specifically, you'll:
* Translate Demand into a material plan (utilizing both ERP and Visual Factory based tools) to ensure proper amount of inventory is available to meet customer requirements while maintaining minimal capital investments.
* Organize and implement sourcing productivity projects
* Ensure all purchase orders are placed on time and acknowledged by vendors to meet manufacturing needs.
* Expedite purchase orders as needed to ensure timeliness to manufacturing need
* Participate in sourcing activities and ensure compliance with negotiated contracts
* Facilitate customer service levels above 98%
* Evaluate and manage vendor performance to insure DSI performance, on-time deliveries and adherence to quality specifications
* Provide follow-up and recovery plans for out-of-stock, low stock and excess items
* Ensure Key Supply Chain metrics are maintained
* Assist operations in development of credible project timelines
* Assist in the prompt disposition of Non-Conforming materials
* Assist management in developing a more robust and efficient Supply Chain process
* Travel related to vendor qualification and maintenance - 10%
* Support inventory accuracy objectives through engagement in a recurring cycle count program.
