The Opportunity

The built environment is generating nearly 40% of the total global carbon footprint. With global warming and urbanization this trend can only increase unless we decide to combat it. Many corporations have made pledges to reduce to NCZ but the road to deliver on these promises still needs to be defined and implemented. JLL manages more than 5 billion square feet on behalf of our clients, and therefore we have an important role to play in driving the sustainability agenda to shape a better world.

To achieve this ambitious goal, we will need to engage with our clients as the vast majority of our scope 3 emissions are generated by their portfolios. With this commitment we must deploy best in class sustainability practices with all of our clients across the 5 billion square feet that we manage globally, whether investors or occupiers, from strategy to transforming assets, project management down to managing assets.

The Role

We are seeking a Global Head of Sustainability Strategic Consulting who will report to our newly appointed Global Head of Sustainability, Guy Grainger. Guy and his leadership team will be accountable for defining and delivering our sustainability strategy across the global enterprise.

The Global Head of Sustainability Strategic Consulting will be accountable for leading a best-in-class team of consultants to deliver advisory services that help our corporate occupier and investor clients shape their sustainability ambitions and report on progress towards their goals.

They will be responsible for driving and delivering very fast paced growth in a permanently evolving environment. They will be in daily contact with our C-suite clients to best advise them on core services and products namely:

* Sustainability Reporting Frameworks
* Ratings & Certifications
* Climate Risk Strategy
* Social Impact Strategy
* Net Zero Carbon Strategy

Our strategic services are designed to support our clients optimize the quality of their portfolio and drive the maximum return.

This leader will work across all JLL global business units including Work Dynamics, Markets, Capital Markets and JLLT. They will initially lead an existing team of 150 professionals and will grow & scale up the team to reach 400 professionals within the next 2 years.

The Responsibilities

This role is responsible for:

Identify, advise and deliver sustainability consulting services and corporate enterprise sustainability strategies

* Partner with Product Management and Sales to identify client opportunities around our suite of sustainability products including Sustainability Strategy and Planning, Net Zero Carbon Strategy, Climate Risk, and Voluntary and Compliance Reporting.
* Create linkages between upstream consulting services (delivered by the team) and related sustainability offerings being delivered by the Sustainable Assets and Sustainable Operations teams.
* Serve as a thought leader in sustainable strategies positioning JLL as the go-to advisor for real estate sustainability topics.

Driving revenue and margin growth.

* Responsible for achieving financial goals across the Sustainability Consulting team and servicing clients across our three Global Business Lines: Work Dynamics, Markets (brokerage and leasing), and Capital Markets.
* Drive top line revenue growth, margin enhancement, improvements in customer account penetration scores, client retention metrics, sales metrics, and NPS.

Scale up and lead a high performing team of consulting experts operating across the global enterprise

* Unify the existing service delivery teams of 150 people across the firm and build a robust global consulting team.
* Identify, recruit, train and retain top talent in key markets to grow the team to 400 people within the next 2 years.
* Develop and deliver a scalable operating model for consulting that includes off-shore service centers to deliver high value consulting services around the world.
* Utilize technology, external partners, and innovative business models to meet and exceed client expectations around speed, scale, and depth of expertise.

Deliver customer outcomes around sustainability strategies linked to downstream services, such as project management, building design, and sustainable operations

* Leverage JLL product offerings on engagements to help clients accelerate towards their goals.
* Identify opportunities to upsell through related sustainability services identified in the initial consulting engagements.

Collaborate with service delivery teams across the Global Sustainability Platform

* Integrate and collaborate with the key service delivery verticals within Sustainability Services, namely Sustainable Assets, and Sustainable Operations, and the Heads of JLL's Occupier and Investor sustainability teams.
* Ensure seamless integration with peers and their teams to deliver high value customer outcomes, strong customer satisfaction and net promoter scores, repeat business, and strong financial results.

Desired skills and capabilities for this job

* Experience leading large global teams, establishing and running high performance centers of excellence, and delivering scaled growth
* Agility in working across global matrixed organizations to drive successful outcomes

* Obsessed with customer needs
* Commercially astute
* Keenly aware of trends within the industry
* Expertise across real estate and enterprise sustainability consulting (15+ years)
* Fluent English speaker. Additional languages a plus.
