About the Generalist, Human Resources role: *
This role will report directly to the Director, Human Resources and will play an integral role in assisting with the day-to-day Human Resources operations for the entire organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide guidance to local & remote employees and managers in all Human Resources aspects including routine payroll processing, 401(k) administration, compensation and benefits, employee relations including exit interviews & team building, performance management, workers' compensation, legal compliance, and overall adherence to Atlantic Housing Foundation handbook and policies.
Serve as the primary administrator & point of contact for Atlantic Housing Foundation's payroll & HRIS system (Netchex), annual benefits open enrollment administration, worker's compensation, workplace injury and reasonable suspicion screens, and all related routine audits.
Provide support to the management team to ensure that all HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and are consistent with company culture and values.
Assist Director, Human Resources and team members on issues involving employee relations such as progressive discipline, performance improvement plans (PIPs), terminations, EEOC claims, and legal or policy interpretations.
Assist Director, Human Resources and management team with employee formal performance management process and related, supporting wage analysis reviews.
Maintain all employee and related files to meet all federal, state, and company regulations. Compile statistics for various monthly, quarterly, and annual HR management reports including benefits enrollment and utilization, employee engagement, exit interviews, and retention. Perform all HR-related administrative tasks including recordkeeping, documenting, tracking of all related tasks.
Respond to management and employee HR-related questions and requests in a timely manner. Cross train on core recruitment & staffing processes and tasks.
Perform other assignments and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience: **
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years direct Human Resources generalist experience
General knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws coupled with experience, supporting and working alongside a diverse group of local & remote employee populations Ability to maintain and observe strict professional ethics, confidentiality, and privacy in all staff and company information
Advanced MS office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Provide support to Director, Human Resources on compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitive practices and adherence to policies and procedures
At least one year performing this role within the multi-family or hospitality industry (preferred) Knowledge of the Netchex payroll & HRIS system (highly preferred)
Comfortable proficiency in Google Suite (preferred)
Awareness/exposure to Predictive Index (highly preferred)
