Altus Group U.S., Inc., a leader in State and Local Tax consulting, has an immediate opening in its Complex Tax and Advisory practice for a Property Tax and Incentives & Credits Manager. Altus serves clients throughout the US and is seeking individuals with property tax, valuation, and incentives negotiation experience for manufacturing/heavy industrial, energy, and other special-use properties. Successful applicants will work in a dynamic team environment emphasizing excellence in client service, practice development, and individual skills development. Job activities and responsibilities may broadly include:

* Managing engagements and maintaining client relationships

* Supervising day-to-day tasks that ensure successful completion of engagements

* Reviewing analysts' and consultants' work product and developing analysts' and consultants' skillset

* Data analysis and tax and incentive research

* Working with state and local officials and economic development and negotiating incentives and property tax matters.

* Building client relationships and professional networks through regular contact with partners, clients, prospective clients, state and local tax officials, and economic development organizations

* Developing property tax and incentives & credits skillset through participation in continuing education events

* Participating in practice development by identifying and implementing process improvements, in addition to identifying and capitalizing on market trends

* Supporting business development activities by acting as subject matter expert to close sales

Job Requirements:

* The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

* Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field preferred, but not required)

* CPA, CMI designation preferred

* Ability to supervise others in a positive manner and prioritize subordinates' work loads

* Valuation experience specific to special use industrial facilities, both real and personal preferred

* Experience negotiating and securing state & local incentives & credits (site selection experience preferred, but not required)

* Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail

* Ability to work in a self-directed manner

* Strong writing, research, and communication skills

* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

* Ability to multitask while meeting tight, client-driven deadlines

* Strong interpersonal skills
