No Weekends! Work schedule is Monday - Friday on 1st/Day Shift.
This position is in El Paso, TX.
What you will be doing:
Performs a variety of assignments that may include any customer service, cafeteria and catering services, general sanitation, cleaning and use of kitchen equipment. Ensures customer happiness inefficient and safe manner. Responsible for performing clerical and money management tasks in the retail areas. Ensures cafeteria is always clean and organized. Professional behavior is always required. Adheres to Helen of Troy's code of Conduct.
Ensure retail space is set up for service
Maintains cash registers in working order. Must advise manager if Point of Sale (POS) system needs repairs
Must verify till count is accurate prior to starting their shift
Demonstrates knowledge of cash register and pricing methodology, with minimum 1% overage and/or shortages per shift
Demonstrates ability to perform cashier function of change making, accurate ring up sales, and making corrections to monetary errors to customers
Completes all cash reports in an accurate and timely manner after each meal period
Reads, signs, and understands the cashier agreement (place in file) annually
Performs all Cashier functions in an accurate and timely manner
Communicates all customer concerns to manager
Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures
Accurately sets up assembly retail common areas for meal service in accordance with procedures
Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, local and department sanitation procedures and maintains a clean, sanitary working environment in all areas of Culinary Department
Transport's food carts and equipment in a safe manner throughout the facility as required
Safely transports garbage, and recyclable material to assigned areas
Identifies and applies cleaning chemicals used, adhering to recommendations by manufactures SDS
Uses equipment in performing job functions as per department safety procedures
Demonstrates knowledge of infection control and sanitation with food temperatures, hand washing, use of gloves and dating of food when required to handle food
Able to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruptions on a frequent basis
Uses all PPE personal protective equipment accurately
Always maintains workstation and retail area in a clean and orderly condition. Including counter tops, condiment stations, beverage areas and food carts
Adheres to Helen of Troy's Department dress codes and always presents a professional image
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
Knowledge of Point of Sales system, kitchen safe, sanitary food handling techniques, basic math, and cash handling. Must have ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to read, understand and speak basic English to perform essential functions of the job. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, POS reports, temperature logs, safety rules, SDS sheets
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to give correct and accurate change
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma
1+ years cashier experience
Food handler's certificate
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Serv Safe
Food Safety and HACCP knowledge
