Job description

Description: The Challenge
Logistic Operator is responsible for finished product packaging. This includes proper labeling and record keeping to comply with cGMP and API ICHQ7a standards. Maintains the packaging areas in compliance with housekeeping, sanitation and for material movements throughout the site, primarily through forklift operation.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepares packaging equipment and self for operation, including required clothing, completion of paperwork and collection of labels to be used.
Packages final product to specified weights (as directed by the Production Supervisor or her designee). Samples final product for lab analysis.
Crimps lids, inert drums, clean and inspects final drums, labels drums, stacks and palletizes drums, shrink wraps drums / pallets, loads drums on refrigerated trailer. Monitors trailers for temperature and cleanliness.
Completes final drumming records for shipping documentation and receives shipping documentation (i.e. drumming records, shipping summary, bill of lading, etc.) and seals shipping container. Ensures shipping documentation submitted to appropriate personnel. Completes log book entries in compliance with site procedures.
Documents and reports any quality deviations for follow up by the Quality Process Coordinator.
Cleans and maintains packaging and warehousing areas according to cGMP requirements and Client zoning guidelines.
Inspects equipment and identifies repairs needed. Assists production supervisor in Prioritizing and preparing equipment for maintenance including clearing and LOTOTO of equipment.
Provides input to Production Quality coordinator and others to assist with nonconformance investigations and prepares associated documentation.
Receives raw materials, samples, carbon vapor packs/drums for lab analysis. Inspects final product drums and lids. Submits receiving documentation to appropriate personnel.
Maintains control of inventory of raw materials (FIFO) and monitors storage units.
Stages raw materials for Production.
Coordinates waste management by monitoring and maintaining inventory control of B438 Hazardous Waste Storage, and reporting results to SHEQ department. Controls inventory of satellite accumulation stations in process structure. Stages drums, labels drums (including scheduled removal date) and monitors for pick-up dates.
Monitors dump hoppers and disposes of metal. Monitors roll off dumpsters for scheduled removal. Weighs solid waste trucks in and out and submits paperwork to SHEQ department.
Conducts monthly fire extinguisher inspection and submits report to SHEQ department.
Participates in Self-Inspections, Risk Analyses, FMEA and RCA as needed and resolves and closes walkthrough item findings. Participates in safety meetings.
Maintains skills and abilities through classroom training classes, computer based training modules, Required training sheets, etc. Helps assess training effectiveness and identify training needs. Helps develop and deliver training to others.
Works to SHE standards and encourages colleagues to work to the same standards.

Knowledge and Educational Level:
High school diploma or equivalent.
One or more years of experience working in a manufacturing plant is preferred.
Experience in warehousing operations preferred.

Required Level of Experience:
Ability to operate computers.
Must be able to operate forklift.
Requires ability to lift up to 60 pound containers to a height of 3-4 feet and load them onto pallets.
Requires ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders, as well as work atop and/or traverse scaffolding and personnel lifts at elevated heights.
Requires ability to clean, test, remove and install equipment through the plant site.
Requires ability to position self to work at low levels or in an extended position for prolonged periods of time.
Requires ability to operate wrenches to bolt/unbolt equipment and components.
Requires ability to safely operate mechanized equipment, such as lift trucks, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
Requires ability to work varying shift patterns and overtime with frequent changes in production plans.
