Goals:

Help businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners.

Should be multifaceted as a mediator, moderator, connector and ambassador in bringing client business needs together with IT resources.

Should be clear communicator, smooth facilitator, precise analyzer and team player

Should act like a bridge between business systems from the end user to functional implementation of technical solutions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Do the ground work before requirements gathering meeting with the client about their line of business and any sample applications etc.,
  • Interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs
  • Completely listen and jot down the key words, points and ask questions if not understood.
  • Analyze the requirements after the meeting while creating the very first version of the requirements document.
  • Identify work flows and patterns that could help with the ability for system to drive the process.

Pointers to follow with requirements and documenting:

1. Extract requirements: Incomplete or improper requirements lead to project failure

2. Anticipate requirements: It is dynamic world of IT

3. Constrain requirements: Focus on core business needs, not on users' personal preferences / trends /outdated processes.

4. Organize requirements: Requirements often originates from disparate. BA must organize requirements into related categories for effective management and communication.

5. Translate requirements: Sometimes, need to be translated into technical requirements or assist to the team who makes the technical requirements.

6. Simplify requirements

7. Verify and safeguard requirements: Continually verify the requirements and reject which are not in final business need. At regular intervals, verify functionality, accuracy and completeness of the requirements against the original initiating documents.

8. System and operations maintenance: After production. Create/organize/maintain CRs, enhancements.

  • Share a clearly written document with client and get the approval. Get clarifications if needed.
  • Use AeTrack to enter all the requirements (User stories and tasks) into backlog
  • Understand the client demo timelines and plan the work for dev team accordingly.
  • Pull the user stories and necessary tasks into sprints to meet the demo deadlines.
  • Schedule meeting with Tech team and give an overview of the project and explain the next steps. Communicate with implementing team clearly and precisely. Avoid confusions and corrections after giving them the requirements to DEV team. Make sure the DEV team understood the requirement clearly.
  • Make use of testing team if available (by assigning task to testing team) OR you test the finished user stories
  • Facilitate project activities such as client meetings, process/design workshops, user acceptance test sessions, and weekly status updates to clients / Chris / Parik / Kavitha
  • Plan deployments for internal testing / UAT/DEMO
  • Documentation of database structure and procedures
  • Responsible to validate the data issues raised by clients and internal users on the bug tracking tool and communicate the results from the validation to relevant parties
  • Perform database validation on the stored procedures developed to make sure the right output is derived for the UX mock up designed.
  • Conduct Demos'. Note down the feedback and incorporate in requirements document, communicate with tech team and to testing. The Cycle repeats and No step need to be skipped.
  • Take COMPLETE responsibility of client requirements are satisfied. Never delegate / just manage the project requirements.
  • Plan for smooth UAT after internal testing either by using testing team or by yourself.
  • Final goal is to ensure the system is properly implemented

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental Pay:

  • Bonus pay

  • Frisco, TX 75035: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
