Please review the following job description:
Provide support to the Grandbridge Agency Underwriting team including work on loan submission packages, coordinating engagement of third party reports, establishment and maintenance of electronic loan files, payment of invoices related to agency transactions, pulling market reports, running A check, credit checks, OFAC, FHFA Exclusionary searches, aggregating due diligence items required to be uploaded by the agencies (C&D) and ensuring that all relevant documents are properly uploaded and identified in DocStore. This position must work closely with members of the underwriting team and the closing team to ensure an efficient execution of agency loans.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provides loan processing support for an underwriting team including the preparation of preliminary and final mortgage application checklist and gathering of the mortgage loan documentation.
- Creates and maintains the Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac mortgage loan data files and electronically process the loan commitments and deliveries.
- Completes Fannie Mae commitments in C&D for review by the DCU upon rate lock.
- Drafts the delivery set of C&D.
- Order all third party reports including property appraisals, physical needs assessments, and environmental reports.
- Set up and populate loan sizing models including basic analysis of historical property operations.
- Work collaboratively with the Legal Department to facilitate loan processing and closing.
- Is able to obtain and understand data needed to prepare mortgage loan submissions from property owners, borrowers, lenders and third party sources. Included may be leases, sales contracts, property rent rolls, surveys, property income and expense statements, borrower financial statements, articles of incorporation, partnership agreements, deeds, easements, environmental reports, property condition reports, appraisals, title policies, deeds of trust, notes, mortgage loan commitments.
- Download photographs and prepare picture books with maps and aerials that are used in the loan submissions to the Credit Committee.
- Is able to interact with the borrower to request and obtain information from them as needed.
- Order and track credit reports, Dunn & Bradstreet reports, demographic reports and other third party reports needed for the mortgage loan submission and/or closing.
- Order and maintain office supplies, process wire requests, and pay third-party invoices.
- Review and stay abreast of the Fannie Mae DUS guide,updates, and pricing changes.
- Assist in the preparation of the loan analyses and narratives consistent with Fannie Mae and internal guidelines.
- Prepare a draft of Fannie Mae waiver requests and submissions which will be approved and submitted by a Fannie Mae Underwriter or the DCU.
- Assist the Fannie Mae Underwriter or DCU in finalizing all underwriting aspects of the final loan delivery package to Fannie Mae.
- Assist in the training of the Real Estate Analysts.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Agency Lending.
Required Skills or Competencies:
- Undergraduate degree in business or related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in multifamily lending with a strong preference for demonstrated knowledge and experience in specialized programs such as Fannie Mae DUS and Freddie Mac Program Plus.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and financial statements.
- Consistently exercises prudent judgment related to credit analysis and real estate risks.
- Has a proficient level of computer skills, including strong abilities with Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and their related applications.
- Is highly organized. Has a high attention to detail. Has the ability to meet deadlines.
- Has the maturity and self-confidence to simultaneously handle a variety of assignments.
- Is able to work harmoniously with internal/external workers/customers, including Real Estate Analysts, Underwriters, associates, senior management, borrowers and vendors.
- Able to take initiative with nominal direction.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
