Build and maintain a community engagement program, including special events, volunteer coordination and alternate funding strategies. A key priority for this position is to establish a robust sponsorship and volunteer plan to engage with the local community on the value of Parks and Recreation services.

* Manages volunteer program strategy, policies and procedures, and recruitment.
* Ensures compliance with all PARD and City of Georgetown policies regarding safety and local obligations regarding the use of volunteers.
* Manages recruitment, selection, screening, and certification of volunteers assigned to the department, including onboarding, ensuring training, reviewing performance, and scheduling of work.
* Establish program strategies and goals, operating procedures and preparation of volunteer job descriptions.
* Develop and maintain volunteer handbook and guidelines.
* Ongoing contact with staff to determine volunteer needs and requirements.
* Act as liaison between PARD and all volunteer groups or units.
* Manage volunteer database to track volunteer hours and to prepare reports.
* Develop incentive and recognition plans and events for volunteers.
* Partner with volunteer groups and personnel in support of large-scale events
* Track and maintain calendar of events and volunteer records for park activities, programs, and special events.
* Create and execute unique special events that align with the mission of the Parks and Recreation department.
* Plan, conduct, supervise and monitor Parks and Recreation special events.
* Solicit sponsorships and manage benefits for special events.
* Collaborate with Parks staff and additional committees to plan large-scale annual events.
* Maintain event budgets.
* Assist with other City-wide special events.
* Identify and execute revenue-generating opportunities to support special events and programs.
* Develop and manage Parks Partnership program plan.
* Recruit and secure sponsorships and additional financial support and coordinate related agreements and relationships.
* Cultivate and expand corporate and small business sponsorship development and fulfillment.
* Seek and review grant opportunities; prepare grant applications; administer grant programs; monitor grant payments and collections.
* Liaison with the Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation
* Maintain donor database.
* Solicit silent auction, prize and in-kind donations for special events and programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Tourism, Marketing, Hospitality Management or related field OR any combination of experience, education or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

* Volunteer programs, including recruitment, training and management.
* Ability to plan and manage programs, events, outings, etc.
* Marketing practices and theory.
* Modern office practices.
* City and administrative policies and procedures.
* Social media platforms.
* Sales and Marketing principles and methods involved in showing, promoting, and selling services and locations.

* Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Valid Class C Texas driver's license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, vision, hearing, talking, use of foot controls.

Hiring Range: $45,281.60 -$53,206.40 annually.
