Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Human Resources Partner located in Houston, Texas. This role will support site clients in TES and Central Engineering for local employee/leader support located at the Houston Dow Center as well as a resource for other HR Partners to support on employee/leader situations at this location. This role exists to support leaders to deliver against the people strategy, maintaining partnership and relevance to drive business results.

The successful candidate must gain an understanding of the business and corporate culture, drive change initiatives, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, develop trusting relationships, and provide valuable feedback that enhances performance for all. This role will report to the US South HR Partner Leader. The role works within a network of other HR Partners, as well as with other parts of the HR model which include HR Solutions and the HR Center of Expertise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner and consult to understand relevant client strategies and how they are activated through the people agenda.
  • Integrates the relevant client strategy into the broader business/functional/site strategy.
  • Builds leadership capability - serves as a coach to people leaders on talent and talent decisions.
  • Provides expert advice and coaching to leaders and employees when appropriate.
  • Ensures that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization.
  • Focus on run the business needs and the 1-3 year plans of the Organization.
  • Connects, redirects and consults with people leaders on the portfolio of HR solutions to solve business needs.
  • Member of relevant client group leadership teams.
  • Creates a strong client focus with an employee experience mindset.
  • Apply and advise on relevant local laws and regulations related to employee and labor relations.
  • Drives organizational productivity and engagement.
  • Lead strategy and participate on leadership teams.


Required qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at an E6 rank/Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher is required.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree discipline in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering, or other related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 or more years of Human Resources experience is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data and situations, make recommendations and assist with implementation.
  • Ability to build solid relationships with clients through expertise and consultation.
  • Experience leading large change initiatives.
  • Knowledge of U.S. employment and labor laws.
  • Client facing experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal effectiveness skills, including but not limited to conflict resolution, effective two way communication, negotiation skills.
  • Strong relationship, partnership and consultancy skills.


Note: Domestic relocation is available for this role and may be provided based on eligibility.
