Data Gumbo provides Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) to industry. Data Gumbo Corporation is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with offices in Stavanger, Norway and London, England.

The Business Analyst serves as the key interface between the development team and customers, both internal and external. Business Analysts are responsible for refining customer wants and needs into functional requirements. Based on their knowledge of the product, the customers and the market, the Business Analyst helps the Product team define and prioritize the Product Road Map. This position is customer facing and will expose the Business Analyst to all facets of the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine business analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining, contract analysis and decomposition, research, site visits, whiteboarding with customers.
  • Help to maintain and expand the data models of the Data Gumbo Platform.
  • Perform requirements analysis, help with prioritization, write functional requirements and specifications
  • Take ownership of a piece of the evolving GumboNet platform and serve as Product Owner for that functionality
  • Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Work closely with clients, developers, implementation engineers, sales and management.
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements and assist in Quality Assurance testing.
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Sense of humor
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Organization and communication skills must be at a high level.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written English.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • A track record of following through on commitments.
  • 3-5 years of professional business analyst or related experience
  • 2 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry ideal
  • Basic SQL query skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

A highly qualified candidate will also have:

  • Technical degree
  • Experience in Agile/iterative software development teams
  • Upstream Oil and Gas Experience at:
  • A Drilling Contractor
  • Other Oilfield Services Companies
